Nashville SC 7/10 to beat Atlanta in Friday’s MLS matchup

Market: Nashville win

Odds: 7/10 @

Smelling a chance to extend on what has been a real romp on home soil, Nashville will welcome Atlanta to the Nissan Stadium in the early hours of Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, despite getting hit with that 2-0 defeat against the New York Red Bulls when returning from the international break, Nashville have bounced back in some style. Putting on another professional display last time out and picking up what was a hugely impressive 1-0 win against Philadelphia on home soil, Gary Smith s side are tipped as a landslide pick to clinch another Final Series spot in the Eastern Conference. With just a single defeat since opening the 2021 campaign and continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across the MLS, The Yellows ha…

Deschamps defies doubters as France heed call to arms

Didier Deschamps responded decisively to a tactical mistake as Antoine Griezmann helped France to make their first real statement of intent at Euro 2016 on Sunday.

A huge shock was in the offing going into half-time at Stade de Lyon, as the hosts trailed 1-0 to the Republic of Ireland.

But a change in personnel and formation at the break proved to be a masterstroke, helping Les Bleus to come from behind and secure a convincing 2-1 win that will fill the squad with confidence going into a quarter-final against either England or Iceland in Paris next Sunday.

Deschamps has been rightly scrutinised for the apparent lack of a clear strategy so far at a European Championship his star-studded group are among the favourites to win.

But the coach of every major …

Sassuolo rejected Balotelli – CEO

Chief executive Giovanni Carnevali revealed Sassuolo turned down the opportunity to sign out-of-favour Liverpool forward Mario Balotelli.

Balotelli has been deemed surplus to requirements by Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, now training with the Premier League club s under-23 side following an unsuccessful loan spell at AC Milan last season.

The 26-year-old is struggling to find a new home after Besiktas coach Senol Gunes distanced himself from the Italian and Serie A side Sassuolo have added themselves to the list.

Mino Raiola offered us Balotelli, but we refused, Carnevali told RaiSport s Zona11pm show.

In 20 league appearances for Milan in 2015-16, Balotelli scored just one goal.

Manchester City 0 Stoke City 1: Diouf off the mark as champions are beaten

Mame Biram Diouf s first Stoke City goal gave Mark Hughes side a historic 1-0 victory over champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Stoke had failed to pick up a point in any of their previous six trips to Eastlands since returning to the top flight, but ended the home side s winning start to the Premier League on Saturday.

Having soaked up what the hosts had to throw at them, Stoke took the lead courtesy of Diouf s virtuoso run and finish shortly before the hour.

The former Manchester United man broke away in stunning fashion before beating Fernandinho and Joe Hart to open the scoring.

Stoke s first goal against City since September 2012 proved crucial as Hughes men breathed life into their season against one of the Welshman s former clubs.

CSKA Moscow beat Rubin Kazan in Russian Cup final

CSKA Moscow beat defending league champions Rubin Kazan 1-0 in the Russian Cup final, allowing them to win the tournament for the second time in a row.

While the two teams began to prepare for extra time, a very late goal from Evgeni Aldoninn ensured that CSKA were to take home the trophy with an additional 30 minutes no longer needed.

As a result, CSKA join local rivals Lokomotiv Moscow at the top of the all-time Russian Cup ranking, as both sides won the trophy five times.

CSKA first won it in 2002, followed by victories in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

Ronaldo finally gets to try life in the Real world

Cristiano Ronaldo sowed the seeds of his proposed world record transfer to Real Madrid more than 18 months ago, but it took a lengthy campaign by the Portugal winger and his Spanish suitors to finally persuade Manchester United to sell their prize asset.

United agreed to let Ronaldo join Real for 80 million pounds on Thursday after admitting defeat in the fight to keep the star at Old Trafford.

The first shots were fired way back in 2006 when United rebuffed an offer from Real. But, although Real lost that battle, they had no intention of losing the whole war.

Like a teenager chasing their first love, they continued to whisper sweet nothings in Ronaldo s ear and inevitably his head was eventually turned by Real s promises of a better life together.

Ederson fancies Man City´s chances of winning famous treble

Ederson believes Manchester City can make this their greatest ever season by winning a famous treble.

City can reduce Premier League leaders Arsenal s advantage to five points by beating bottom-of-the-table Southampton on Saturday, with the Gunners taking on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola s side then face Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

City travel to Bavaria for the second leg on April 19 and face Sheffield United in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley three days later.

Goalkeeper Ederson thinks the Premier League champions have a great chance of getting their hands on all three trophies.

All set for the Saints!

United to keep Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United are set to keep Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to .

The Chilean s involvement in this year s Copa America ended recently, with his national team falling at the hands of Peru in the semifinal, and subsequently losing out on bronze to Argentina in a game which saw him withdrawn with a hamstring injury after only 17 minutes.

Since his switch from Arsenal in January 2018, Sanchez has played only 45 games and found the opposition net five times, which is altogether an appalling output considering the pedigree with which he arrived. Last season he started only 19 games in all competitions. Reports of him wanting out and the club being eager to get his enormous salary off their backs came thick throughout the campaign, but now when the transfer window …
